NO REASON TO CRY in my opinion Eric`s Best solo studio album in the 70`s. It was recorded in the sound studio for converted House of Pleasure SHANGRI-LA, where even Bob Dylan and THE BAND worked. These same artists and Ron Wood, VAN MORRISSON, and Billy Preston support Eric playing music and (especially) during celebrations. No, they will not have cried, the JIM BEAM drinking rockers in their Püfflein :-). The strength and the fascination of this album is not in Eric's guitar playing, which he once more sparingly used, special in the songwriting, the arrangements and in EC's fragile, but very charismatic and sensitive voice. The qualities mentioned are especially herrauszuhören in Sign Language, HELLO OLD FRIEND AND ALL OUR PAST TIMES. Weaker are similar THE BAND CARNIVAL, HUNGRY and written by backing vocalist MARCY LEVY and sung, both musically and lyrically clichéd and really hideous INNOCENT TIMES. Even the blues EC has represented on this record, it is with the Dobro-studded COUNTY JAIL BLUES, LAST NIGHT and Otis Rush classic DOUBLE TROUBLE. When Eric number bluest strongly to himself and documented that he is an excellent interpreter of old blues songs. The mood of the album happily jump to melancholy, to bluesy sad / angry (although Eric`s voice lets miss here to aggression, was probably on Bourbon) and as a whole provides an insight into Clapton's personality that in the recordings but permeated by a general relaxation is. As I said, it's not a guitar album highlight, but an incredibly fun and feeling while listening arouses. Eric is and remains one of grösdsten contemporary musicians
