Two notes first: 1. I am quite a fan of the singing talents and especially the sound of the voice of Anna Netrebko what my review probably can not leave you indifferent. This CD 2. You do not have the shelf, a purchase can be worthwhile nonetheless. But first things first: a total of 12 arias from different operas 9 are gathered on the CD that sometimes alone, sometimes sings with partners such as Juan Diego Florez or Plácido Domingo Netrebko. Only the arias from Lucia di Lammermoor and I Puritani are already published on the respective opera DVDs. The photographs range from 2010 back to the year 2002. Besides the usual popular songs rather rare find recorded pieces (z. B. as Natasha in War and Peace Prokfievs). One should however keep in mind that these are live recordings before buying. Apart from the typical (partially interfering) background noises convoluted positions sometimes lead to the recording microphones to a non-homogeneous sound. It is true, as a Vorrezensent notes that the recordings can miss a differentiated role design. However, this is - thinks differently than the Vorrezensent - no shortcoming of the singing talents, but delivered owes the special requirements of the Metropolitan Opera (!). Under these requirements, a balance and produce a beautiful sound, featuring the excellent singer. So also the darker timbre of the voice is by no means evidence of matronly decay. The particular size and other acoustic peculiarities of the house require it, that sometimes has to be sung with more power and less differentiated, as is the case in a typical opera house or even in the studio (to hear it is in many other singers, beginning with Maria Callas ...). The applause after "O soave Fanciulla" (2010) and "Ardon gl'incensi" (2009) are (especially the latter) more than understandable. Who wants to hear the voice or the arias in better sound quality, the is expressly advised to take up the studio recordings. But if you want to get a taste of the excellent stage presence of voice Netrebko will be well served with this CD. Fun making them all.
