On 18.11.1993 a man came in a gray / green sweater on stage, said nothing but "Good Evening" and began with the first song "About a Girl" to which he shortly, with fairly uninvolved voice said that the Most people would not know him because he was on the first album ("Bleach"). This man was, since 1991, the album was "Never Mind" appeared, the more than 9 million copies sold, constantly in the media, the idol was millions of young people, lead singer of grunge rock band Nirvana, was for a very specific way of life and was all over the world through his music and through fan T-shirts Present: Kurt Cobain. All that you could not believe, as this rather inconspicuous man sat with greasy blond hair and horrible sweater on his chair first. Everywhere candles and flowers - a strange environment for the rock bands ever. But all that one forgets, it is not important, as Kurt starts to sing. The audience listens to, there is no hysterical shriek, you only hear the muffled sound when Dave Grohl comes up with his batons, even the bass from Krist Novoselic appears calm, thoughtful. For this purpose this voice that can be described as heavy, sad, exhausted and yet of immense expressiveness. Following is "Come as you are," Kurt sings and plays with his head down, he rarely looks up and displays the incredible blue of his eyes. In the text line "And I Do not Have A Gun", he sings barely comprehensible, through gritted teeth. But no one understands the message. This is followed by the song "plateau", "Oh Me" and "Lake of Fire", which all originated from the Meat Puppets, an alternative band that Cobain was very fond of and which no longer exists today (except through their music). The Kirkwood brothers of Meat Puppets are as even and Kurt lets you play guitar and focuses entirely on singing. Next, "All Apologies" and then comes the climax: "Where Did You Sleep Last Night", quietly, he starts singing, then suddenly loud and screaming how it's actually used by him, he screams his heart out the body suddenly stops, smiles strangely, again opens its incredible eyes, but they seem to be directed elsewhere. He screams one last time, then fallen silent forever. And I break down in tears. No, that's not quite true that it was Nirvana's last concert, there was one after this, but it's not important, actually Kurt had already adopted with this. You have no "harder" (I hate that term ") songs like" In Bloom, "" Lithium "and" Smells Like Teen Spirit "played, but rather a quiet, sadder songs. But I think that they would not fit anyway, also an addition would have been superfluous and wrong, a better conclusion than "Where did you sleep last night" could not have passed. If one looks at the concert today in the TV, you do not believe that it has at that time no one noticed that the man was actually its only a shadow of himself, totally exhausted, calling help - and no one responded. I think he knew that this was the more or less final concert, he has adopted it and completed it in a certain way. But you probably already knew how it was with him, but they have closed their eyes to the truth and no one has responded computing time. Although it is questionable whether he would have to help. Not even his daughter Frances Bean Cobain, whom he loved more than anything, could keep him in this world. This CD shows a different side of Nirvana, sad and serious. She is a super introduction to this kind of music. I thought Nirvana fans, frankly, always freaks who are on heavy music, torn look and maybe even right junkies. But then I got to know such a freak and he was not at all as I had imagined Nirvana fans. Then I made the decision to look at me the Unplugged concert on television. I want to thank him herewith. I need not mention that the concert has tied so that I bought it the next day on CD. Meanwhile, I have all the albums of Nirvana. For someone who wants to approach the music of Kurt Cobain careful this CD is ideal. But I would try to see the concert sometimes on television (MTV), so that one can better understand the peculiar atmosphere, the special thing about this concert.
