For years I was in the mobile space staunch Android users, WP was discredited and was ridiculed. The system itself was evidently satisfactory, but the phones offered could never really convince me (price / performance technical). Well, this may be due to lack of research, I had two functioning mobile phones (Android) with open Cyanogenmod and was thrilled. So why look to the left or right? With the introduction of Windows 10 and the associated vision that changed abruptly. Seek and ye shall find - shortly before the Lumia 535 was published, the fact that I am now about rezensiere (Note: my first review, I beg therefore to the expression possibly reading emerging criticism!), Speaks for the device.

Such a device for just 100, I was excited and curious.

The setting was very smooth, a Microsoft ID I have for quite some time. Office 365 runs on two computers, then also the phone adds to the ranks of the cloud "OneDrive" linked devices. Wunderbar!

The pre-installed apps are characterized throughout by functionality. Office is wonderful (as mentioned documents are either stored in the cloud and therefore are available on all synced devices)

Offline Navigation with turn-by-turn - what can I say? It works. Together with Cortana even extremely comfortable, but more on that later, a few words.
Listening to music with the Mixradio fun (very convenient to discover new music, there are "mixes" based on specified like Heard artist made), the built-in speaker tones in medium volume for mobile phone speaker (!) Still acceptable. Singer / songwriter and simple guitar driven folk sound most likely as they are, for serious permanent listening to music would be but a small acquisition portable loudspeaker recommended. - Optics / haptics: I'm surprised. The ordered model is white matte and feels really wertig on. - Operation: Toll! I like the tile principle more than I ever could have imagined. Genial. The alphabetical list that appears when you wipe on the home screen to the right is great. The system settings are known to be a mess, I had imagined it less bad than it actually is. But here I refer to the forthcoming Windows 10, which promises improvements here!

- Camera quality: modesty. For a smartphone at the price but perfectly acceptable - I expect from my camera that I can not make calls with it. Whoever puts value on, go to really make "good" photos, which should look in advance test images and check whether the Lumia 535 here convinced or not. Do not believe, but I also put little value on built-in cameras. For snapshots, but it was good enough, it does not have to hide itself again. After dusk one should avoid trying to take pictures with the phone but ...
The front camera, however, convinced! Although the wide-angle makes from time to time for distortion, but this is indeed a certain extent in his nature. Toll to make a Selfie by several people and its surroundings. A nice gimmick, but extremely handy for video calls!

- Touchscreen: It gets its own sub-item. Rightly. Everything is right on the phone and I enjoy it. Really everything except the touch screen. He is sluggish. He does not respond partially, or only partially. He repeated entries without a recognizable pattern. I have fun once for two minutes with my Smartphone closed a conversation in Whatsapp vied manually and leave open if by magic again. A double-edged pleasure. After a restart everything was as usual.
When zooming with two fingers you have to be sure to touch the touch screen only with your fingertips - and not too close together. Here, I hope, like many others for an early update or in the worst case a recall.
When you tap it came in the first few weeks of testing repeatedly incorrect entries. Space and words slowly appeared suddenly during fast typing a single word but went Tap. I took a long time until I found the reason for this:

For me it was the "Swype" or wiping function of the keyboard. Fast Typing is sometimes recognized as a wiping gesture, word completion and the function, insert a space in completing of words then told the rest.
A disable this feature in Settings - Keyboard - German / English - "enter when wiping over letter text" brought here noticeable improvements - Tap is fine, the rest (in) I got used to.
Sometimes it comes from in improper recognition, I'd bet on Backspace example, a y inserted, I do not know but from a S3 Mini differently, wiping the screen with a clean cloth or shirt puts things right.

Since I have this wiping disabled while writing I am completely satisfied - because the problem of the touchscreen but only bypassed and not solved and will be for some users who are used to enter text on wiping a problem
I forgive only four instead of five stars. "I like it" - quite, but not consistently.
I have my temporary solution found until hopefully everything eliminated the update and now I am all in all very happy with my first Windows Phone.

UPDATE:
A repair by Microsoft (under warranty with the error description returned) solved the problem with the touchscreen apparently, only a single letter (better the touch screen at exactly this point) still suffered from problems. But a renewed sending then brought the desired success - the touch screen now works correctly and without delay.
