The newcomer "Call of Juarez: Gunslinger" (= CoJ: G) announced the debut and its prequel "Bound in Blood" the old "Cowboys & Indians" feel, but must stand in line behind in terms of story and gameplay design variety. What more is not tragic, for a mere 7 Euros there are good 6-7 hours Arcarde-banging of the easiest varieties. Reminder: The scope of other FPS blockbuster of distinction is nowadays hardly up little appreciably above, for the customer is asked to nem much higher price to pay. Marriage, therefore, someone on the casual gaming experience or the brevity of CoJ: upset G: keep a low profile, Techland finally has campaigned here with a really fair price-performance ratio.
The titular gunslinger Silas Greaves enters the game starts a saloon and arouses the curiosity of the other pubs guests. The 1910 and Greaves advanced age reveal that the glorious days of the Wild West is far back, but his reputation as a former bounty hunter has remained. To satisfy the desire of others question, Silas leaves his old life relive and tells of his legendary encounters with the most famous outlaws and lawmen of that era. Everything super exciting, gaudy and incredible stories that releases the old man because, again and again to have his audience and even he ask himself whether infected at all a little bit of truth among all the exaggerations, dispersion of efforts and fantasies.
One notices: CoJ: G takes himself not seriously piece, overflowing with self-irony and general genre spoof almost. This is what makes it a wonderfully different kind of shooter, despite his very conventional and limited to the essentials of playing. The Cellshading World is schlauchig but atmospheric and immersed in garish comic colors. Sound effects, background music and English speakers produce consistently a credible Wild West atmosphere. Opponents ... Well, little model diversity and rarely a seemingly insurmountable danger. The common of the CoJ series Concentration Mode, here and there interspersed slomo Events and extensible Fähigenkeiten (which but no real game-changing benefits have) abolish, otherwise the genre-standard submissive game mechanics to a minimum, but in the end it remains with the catchy rules shooter genre.
Conclusion:
A delightfully plated Western-story with absurd embellishments on the part of the protagonist, which distracts from the good expected modern shooter linearity. Considering the asking price may be on the low season and the lack of innovation - be they technical or playful - ignore good conscience.
