Luc Ferry carries out a beautiful book written with skill and mastery, true to its clear and pedagogical style. He gives us an analysis of what he calls the "second humanism" which is the sanctification of love in the couple, for children, for the next real and immanent, and characterizes, according to him, Western time - European - contemporary. To get to the verbatim defense of this thesis, he reviewed various times, it shows the links between Bourgois and Bohemia, one being the fall guy of the other; it recalls the great philosophical and religious currents - Stoic, Epicurean, Buddhist, Christian, Kant - and so on ... simply. Reading is cool and pleasant despite the thickness of the book. In fact, the book is the "place" of his lecture series "Philosophy of the present time" available in audio CD.
A good read. Luc Ferry confirms its presence as a philosopher that counts in the current landscape.
