A fun entertainment

From time to time, I go or I digress from my favorite literary fields that are SF, fantasy and crime fiction to see that we offer literature with a capital L, the one that goes on TV shows and is criticized in the Paris newspapers, so I started with I must admit some reluctance that tile of almost 700 pages.
After nearly abandon third of my reading, it must be said that the character are endless and are only processed for a few pages and then find themselves again in history a few hundred pages later. Moreover, is it a will of the author but most novel protagonists are caricatures the DSK couples, homosexual couple, asexual noble and rich family and its secrets, the libertine couple, the young couple and so on and better, so that it borders on overdose of characters and situations.
I am totally incapable as some critics to compare the book to the Feydau (sic) but after a while I've enjoyed writing to the author position reversals in ADescription of daily life of the Brussels district. I also enjoyed find multiple links that connect all these couples, sometimes tenuous, sometimes visible as a game of giant track.
I do not think I remember one of the characters in a few years because the story and the characters without much background but reading this novel surprised me.
