After 20 years, Duran Duran (the band formed in 1978) and 9 years after the "Decade" (first best of 1989) a recent new best of one of the best 80's band. The album shows the spectrum and the development of DD since the beginning of her career. Smash hits like "Save a Prayer", "Wild Boys" or "Planet Earth" are still often heard in the new millennium on the radio - and show how old you yourself already is. ;) In particular, the current hits of the 90 of DD are worth for owners of "Decade" another look. Add to this that the EMI listeners donated rare US versions, which differ in part from the original music. This this album is interesting for non-fans and casual listeners DD. Unfortunately, the album lacks some "pearls" of the band that deserved the name "Greatest" and music compilations taken were. Somewhat disappointed, I wonder why such. B. "Violence of Summer", "Do you believe in shame?" (Single and Soundtrack of "Tequilla Sunrise") or "Too Much Information" are not enhalten. The singles from the cover album "Thank You", z. B. "Perfect Day" or "White Lines", and the brilliant title track from the movie "The Saint"> "Out of My Mind" (from the album "medazzaland" ) were not considered. It may be that this album should not be a double CD, but even these songs a piece of "Duran Duran". Overall a good and recommendable Best Of - not only for die-hard fans - but unfortunately with weaknesses.
