The third component of Virgin River takes us back in Northern California. The female character is the sister of Jack Sheridan, Brie that we had discovered in the second volume. Brie ran through a hard time, abandoned by her husband who left her for her best friend and dejected by the defeat during a trial. She had tied a romance with a friend of Jack recovering at Virgin River, Mike Valenzuela. Early in the third volume, Brie is brutally attacked and raped by the accused n''avait it failed to condemn. It''sa woman injured in his flesh and his spirit finds Mike rushed to his bedside. This entry in fairly brutal material will convey the theme of the novel. As in the two previous novels, this serious topic is discussed very intelligently and n''est not as central as you might think. This is again a beautiful novel, human and full of sensitivity that we offer Robyn Carr. A good read.
