The words are beautiful, crisp. I really enjoyed myself like I tasted each. The title "A Gourmandise" takes its full meaning. The entire aesthetic is ... Well, the word is out: "aesthetic". A bit like "Teorema" Pasolini. Everyone agrees is this director "aesthetic". Nobody do not understand his films but remains attached to the image.
For Barbery, it's a bit the same.
I had not read "The Elegance of the Hedgehog", my opinion was not "polluted" by the literary phenomenon.
I finished the last page yesterday and yet I am incapable of making you a summary. I read nice things but I do not know what I read.
Because the strength of Barbery is somewhat that of Gavalda: choose hot words, scented that bring you into the world of childhood. Read the Barbery or Gavalda is a bit like Proust's madeleine find her.
