Albrecht Mayer's "solo oboist" with the Berlin Philharmonic. This "debut" CD he shows then his whole soloistic. Very pleasant and well, that often quite restrained and unobtrusive accompanied on piano by Markus Becker (all on their own, but no less convincing Mayer is only in the final Koechlin-Monodie) plays Mayer about the Schumann Romances and Songs (even transcribed ) elated downright heartbreaking melancholic and beautiful Daellis Fantasia on Rigoletto and with wit. The other pieces (especially the Yvon-English Horn Sonata) worth the purchase.
