A great SmartPhone, close to perfect, with 2 weaknesses ...

The M9 is a very good smartphone, and is a successful development of the M8. Many reviews have dealt very hard with HTC, for two reasons: The camera in automatic mode no good pictures, and the performance should be different from that not much from the M8.
I have the equipment for 5 days and would like to describe my impressions.
I also have an iPhone 6 Plus and also had the M8. How beats the M9?
Actually quite good! The design is great, the workmanship is very good. The M9 feels very good in the hand, better than the M8 and the iPhone. I opted for the Gunmetal Gray model and must say that it looks great.
So now to the important points that also be interested in most people:
Display: It is similar to the M8, with cooler colors, which I think is better. Many complain because HTC has built no qHD display, but the M9 has a very high resolution display. I wish nevertheless a better display, as Samsung S6 and the iPhone 6. The display but is very good in any case.
Battery life: This is ok, but worse as the M8. This is more on the processor and on Lolilop and not at HTC. But I am sure that future updates will improve the battery life.
Speed: The M9 is a very fast device despite throttling. It is sometimes very hot. I even reach 48 degrees können..Im normal operation but the device remains mostly below 40 degrees.
Sound: The Boom Sound speakers are much better than the M8. Deeper and clearer. A real treat.
Camera: The default settings are not good and that's too bad, because the camera is actually very good! There are on the XDA forums a thread that describes the optimal settings. With these new settings you can make very nice pictures, even in low light conditions.
Software: The new Sense 7 software is very good and fast. Offers many customization options and it's fun to create new themes.

All in all, I'm very happy with it, even if the battery life has become weaker. What is important at end of the day, is how it feels when you hold the device in his hand. Since then I have it, I have my iPhone not touched and that should tell quite a bit ..
