+ Amazingly small and light
+ No ausfahrender tube, internal focusing
+ Minimum focus distance from lens front 10cm (which is very good for such a short focal length)
+ Pleasantly soft bokeh, similar to Tamron 90 2.8
Pretty sharp even at full aperture +
+ At the same time as a portrait lens usable (thanks to 2.0 better than usual exemption 2.8er macros)
+ Relatively low price
+ Tamron are of registering 5 Years (!) Warranty
o workmanship average
- Moderately reliable autofocus (Tamron-typical)
The latter weighs luckily not too difficult, I at least place anyway Manually focusing during macro shooting. In portrait photography under unfavorable light conditions, the AF not 100% true, but I prefer starting a half star.
The other day I have the Tamron 60mm 2.0 compared with the Sigma 70mm 2.8: In the macro range, I feel both as equivalent. Excellent sharpness.
If you want to use it but sometimes for other purposes, you have the Sigma a problem: from f2.8 to f4 least extremely crass CA (I had picked up trees, bare branches were the Sigma does not brown or gray, but colorful!) and surprisingly blurred, until f5.6 it gets better. The Tamron brings a more consistent performance and is about as sharp as the Sigma already in F2 only when F4 upwards. This applies as I said the only set to infinity. As a pure macro there is absolutely nothing to worry at Sigma, also it is handled properly.
But to stay with the Tamron: It may seem like a dwarf among all the larger, heavier and longer macro lenses act, however, suggests Wacker. Flawless sharpness, compact size, fair price and the secondary use as a portrait lens speak for the Tamron.
Conclusion: for from me it 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5. I would buy it again at any time.
Another side note:
If you compare with different macros the minimum distance for focusing, then be sure that the information in the data sheets usually for distance object - apply> Sensor level. These numbers are not meaningful. The Objektivbaulänge it deducted often not enough, because many macros continue to focus the camera still very far from the tube (inside focus lenses do not). The relevant practice pure "net value" (minimum distance Front lens -> object) are much more difficult and often find out only after some browsing on the net.
