For those who missed the train Brandon Sanderson is just one of the best authors of medieval fantasy at present. This is his first big novel, a little worse than MISTBORN and Warbreaker but there is really excellent.
As usual system of "magic" specific book and innatendu outcome. A must read if you like this author or fantasy.
