A magical and poetic quest

The day of his 10 years, Daniel's father takes him to the "cemetery of forgotten books" magical, maze full of dusty books just waiting to get out of their oblivion. There, Daniel like his father before him, has the right to appropriate one of these books to get it out of anonymity. Daniel does not know what to expect.
By choosing "Shadow of the Wind" by Julian Carax, he embarks on a dangerous and exciting quest in the Barcelona postwar looking for this writer who moved and whose past seems so mysterious .
A wonderful novel that mixes adventure, history, love, friendship but also hatred and revenge. Under his pen, the novelist revives the city of Barcelona with poetry and magic. Imagine the scene, he make us dream, we want to be there ... Not to mention his mastery of storytelling, suspense, surprises and mysteries whose sails are gradually rising up to our delight.
This novel reminds me of the novels of the early last century, as thrilling and incredible but much more modern. I think it will be one of the best books I have eaten this year.
This is becoming a real tribute to books, but also the passion and obsession that they are carrying on some. A tribute also to all those books that disappear one day, with no one to read them and who knows, maybe land in the cemetery of forgotten books ...
