Customer Review

I bought this book on the death of my own mother. I was looking for someone outside of my family, who had experienced the same thing, as a friend, a confidant. I found it in the man who tells his story as a child because we all become children facing death from one of our parents, especially our mother who may have a very special place in our life as was the case for mine.
We become children once because we feel weak in relation to this loss, facing this huge empty and it is in a parking lot, in a moment where hope seems to have fled, where the light escapes us Mathias made the acquaintance this giant shadow character that will accompany the journey of grief.

Before this meeting, I recognized myself in these difficult times: the hospital, in automatic mode trips from home to my mother's room, lhébétement, loss mark and above this immense void dizzying and do never fill, but will be somewhat relieved by memories.

We all have a part of us that can comfort us, even if it is always important to be accompanied and to be able to talk about it. This part of us is embodied here by Giant Jack.
This story is touching sincerity, full of poetry; Mathias reveals child fragility is revealed in those moments, allowing easier attachment to the character, and greater compassion is what makes the book invaluable.
