Thus, through the story, we follow Mathias, a young man deeply affected by the recent death of his mother and completely disoriented. His distressed mind first met * * Giant Jack, a giant of more than 4m with strange powers which will help in a way very special Mathias to mourn and overcome her immense pain.
Behind a very colorful and poetic language, shadows hide adorned with sadness and joy. Both dark and funny, this highly evocative tale plays with narrative clichés to borrow a neighbor of Tim Burton style tales to bittersweet images and creaking of a sad yet so tenderly poetic reality.
Dreamlike, fantastic, naive and transcendent ... And as long as we like Dionysos, it easily penetrates into this rich and interesting universe. Yet I am not a fan of Dionysos but I loved this rather short book and found myself gasping laugh out loud several times. This book gives a smile.
