Cross-story taking place in the American South: A friendship between two women in the 80 (Ninnie, 80 and Evelyn, 40), and the story of a coffee (the Whistle Stop Cafe) held by two women the 30s, told by Ninnie. This novel is a breath of freshness and happiness, it reads very easily and takes us away in the cafe Idgie and Ruth, with all its characters procession. This book is a gem! As a bonus, the income of coffee at the end of the book! The story is a little different from the film, the latter having been simplified. The book and film are complementary: the book gives more details (including the explanation of some intriguing end of the film) and the film helps to visualize the story, especially for scenes depicting the American South of the 30s . The actresses are great.
