I've been around for almost two years, a LD20 after me had shown in a rescue operation, a police officer his Fenix. The 2xAA format is wonderful, but the holster with his Velcro hood has me not promised in his pocket bearing the LD20 something on, and the light green tint of the old R2 LED was already some getting used to - also the belt clip is so aligned, that the lamp head is always up, dirt and dust on the lens are the result.
Although I had a few weeks ago in another online store (US) a 4Sevens Quark Tactical AA appointed with deep carry clip, but the delay in delivery made me impatient - so what could be more natural than to add the similar Fenix LD10 to my collection , especially as the price at Amazon is OK and the delivery times crisp fast?
What do you like, is the clip. Not for the belt, but for your pocket - the lamp is secure, without getting lost in the depths of pockets, yet loose enough to not disturb. It should be noted that the clip sits quite tight - remedy a careful readjustment with vice and screwdriver as a lever. In contrast to the LD20 of the clip is also attached so that the reflector faces down what I personally prefer.
I use the LD10 as EDC / backup lamp in dark corners checks at internal conditions and to test the iris reflex in shock patients.
A Sanyo Eneloop LSD NiMH battery lasts in Turbo mode by 90 minutes then the cell is also pretty exhausted - after my tests between 1.02v and 1.09V, measured with a Messtechnik DMM. For a single NiMH cell this term is absolutely fine for me, the lamp is used rarely longer than five minutes in turbo mode. If it is expected that more light and longer terms are needed, I have already either reamed Surefire C2 with Malkoff-DROPIN and 18650 or my Solarforce L2P with XM-L T6. The LD10 is definitely not a stand-alone lamp! For nocturnal GeoCaching I would prefer another. But in spite of everything: The LD10 is an absolutely hevorragende EDC / backup lamp.
Of the available modes I need personally just like the LD20 only two - the weakest light level and the strongest. The service is sometimes criticized; the combination of end cap and turn the reflector head is for me but a very good solution.
Personally, I would appreciate it very much if there would be a forward Clicky, a switch allows the light by touching moment. But the built-in switch is okay, the question of forward or reverse is already a purely subjective matter - everyone just preferred something else.
Price: There are certainly more favorable lamps that are just as good. If you want, however, Type III anodizing and a clip and quick delivery time, then the selection is small - spontaneously occurs to me still the Olight T15 a.
Conclusion: If Talas collects and OA applications can understand, the LD10 is quite appreciate.
