A reference version of the Missa Solemnnis

This version by Karajan, with Gundula Janowitz at the top, let alone the rest of the quartet, absolutely wonderful (think: Christa Ludwig, Fritz Wunderlich and Walter Berry) is absolutely superb. And what about the Benedictus and the celestial violin Schwalbé Michel, an interiority that is not found in any other version. A sublime version for those who, like Beethoven expressed it, "Music is a higher revelation than any philosophy" that leads to the true knowledge and wisdom.
