This novel, which begins with the story of a young Russian woman married to an army pilot, starts a little slowly and characters a bit slow to implement. But over the pages the interest grew gradually, style is fluid and well done history, the interest of this novel is above all this chronicle of Russia and its people. Observation is fine, psychology is delicate and relevant, this book is read with pleasure but with no real "passion" and I fear to forget rather quickly anyway. Would recommend the novels of the Slavic soul lovers.
