In the footsteps of Charlotte Salomon, David Foenkinos gives us here a poignant biography. Yet for a bright future with a doctor father and artistic talents, Charlotte died at age 26 in horrible circumstances. From childhood tragedy picking on her and her family. This short and poetic narrative takes us into the terror of the Nazi period. This book impressed me and made me want to discover the works of Charlotte. Thank you to the writer for his quest that looks like a real declaration of love.
