A tale of madness not really ordinary ...

Jean Teulé, almost light and distanced writings, recounts the terrible step by step way of the cross traveled by Alain de Moneys, good and generous Deputy Hall of corn at-hand, became the time of day party, the unfortunate scapegoat of the inhabitants of an obscure village of Périgord, suddenly gone mad.

What is frightening in this story, it's almost trivial ease with which ordinary individuals facing exceptional circumstances, but no more (hot weather, alcohol, Prussian-French war) carried by a bewildering phenomenon pack could suddenly falling into stupidity and the most absurd cruelty, that they deny, humiliate, torture and burn alive one who was a friendly face, even a childhood friend, propitiatoirement saddled with the enemy's mask . How this amnesia she was possible, and what meaning to give to this travesty of cannibalism?

The alarm clock has of course been painful Hautefaye ... but again without further !!

It is not unscathed from this short novel as it lacks compassion and humanity. The sensitivity of the reader restore balance ... I really liked.
