At first I was a bit lost (blame a bad translation?), I struggled to hang on. But after the first fifty pages I literally devoured the novel. Difficult to stop while the story is so well done.
The world created by Nalini Singh is very well done, and I found this story very original angels and vampires mélés. Similarly, I do not think romance could such an important place, and I was pleasantly surprised. I expected it to be pure bit-lit, or the novel leans more toward the paranormal novel, while keeping the tone very thought that one of the bit in bed. It gives a good mixture. Especially as the relationship between Elena and Raphael I liked especially the fact that Hunter does not bend down before the almighty Archangel.
The characters are developed, the plot holds the road, even if there is sometimes a dip in some dialogues, the rate still remains fairly steady. So I had a very good read, although I however prefer the series Psi Changeling. But it's good to change a little, and besides, I look forward to reading volume 2 to find out more about Raphael!
