A very good (mono) Compromise

The box makes a high impression, but their weight makes good sound technology guess good. This is also confirmed later.

In the beginning you are greeted at the small but sufficient display and guided with an assistant through the initial setup. There is not much to do. Of course, one must if one does not use cable to connect the device to the wireless network. Thanks to WPS functionality (the router must also dominate WPS) you do not have the often long-Fi password cumbersome. Then quickly creates a Squeezebox account and you're ready and ends up in the main menu. However, it is not noted that now in the email mailbox waiting for a confirmatory email. Although the device worked without the confirmation, but I've seen and confirmed the mail after a few hours.

All entries of numbers and letters must be made with the big dial. I'm actually not a fan of entries Wählrädern, but this has not bothered me. It is quite fast, yet accurate. We are also pleased that the "ok" button located in the dial, so manages a nice two-finger operation.

The menu of the box is clear. Stations are sorted by location, music and recommendations of any Bob and Tom. The Bob and Tom have not hit my taste, but one comes on completely different things and maybe come because in the course of time other. One can also pretty much everywhere (!) Search for a station manually. Very nice, if the Category view does not help, I do not have a long time looking for the search function. ;-)

The radio has only one speaker, so mono. In times of 7.1 and DTS I had a little scared, but: I do not really do not misbehaving. The speaker has a rich, pleasant sound. My ears liked simple. In my research good stereos were also significantly more expensive, so I think the result is absolutely satisfactory. Then the compromise also is obtained from the title.

I have the box now touched one day extensively and this is so far the result. Should anything arise in the near future, I will add it here.

Until then I can recommend the box with a clear conscience.

Somehow I forgot to mention that this box was intended for my parents and is accessed by you. Therefore, I have tested only for one day.
But in this context it should be mentioned here that do not mean very technophile parents (sorry mom, but I do not say very specially. You will always be better!) Get along great with the device. The device is therefore also of technology lay easy to operate.

The box is now for almost two months in frequent operation. Due to the relatively large number of reports of failing server should be noted here that this is not even so far happened with us.

A small criticism but I have found. The number of the preset buttons for radio channels to six limit is something little. Although you can create favorites and even local vending, but I would have liked 2 to 4 buttons more. On the other hand acts by the panel very tidy and this in turn helps the less technophile.

The unit is now almost a year old and my parents are still very satisfied. No failures, no problems.
