The author's style may seem confusing at first, with its repetitions phrases, his erasures and the wanderings of Juliet, but you get done quickly. Admittedly, it is sometimes a bit confusing, but it's also very nicely written.
The story itself also changes the ordinary. Juliette, a young girl whose touch is deadly, is enclosed by an organization to control the world after countless natural disasters that killed much of the population. The Restoration needs her to the mysterious projects with Warner to his head, a very nasty, very intriguing! His madness me both terrified and fascinated. I thought that was probably the most interesting character in the book.
Juliette also is not totally white, and sometimes even downright borderline. Fortunately, she found some stability in the person of Adam, the young soldier she has known for a long time. Their story is not necessarily shocking but is well staged. The trouble is experienced for Juliette, and recognition for Adam and his will to save her at any cost. I hope that their relationship will be a little more developed in Volume 2, I hasten to read course.
The action and twists also have their pride in this novel decidedly unlike any other. Maybe a little more depth about the story would have been welcome, it is hard to see where the author is coming from, but I think it will come with later.
