The Lost Chords Find Paolo Fresu (Audio CD)

Customer Review

First I heard the CD a few times rather incidentally. This one is good music in general does not do justice and so even with this album. Meanwhile, a number of times all titles focused full length listening and am completely thrilled by this CD. The quintet plays the humorous, catchy but not simple compositions full of wonderfully harmonious, peaceful melodies loose and relaxed. When Steve Swallows Bass is used by about five minutes in "One Banana" a real revelation. But the many highlights of the album, of course, form the virtuoso congenial game of Fresu and Sheppard. When saxophone and trumpet, as melodious especially in the play "Five Bananas") umeinanderranken then that's just great - I get from that great music played goosebumps. The whole album is full of melody and harmony, of feeling and intelligence and is thereby supported by a swinging groove of catapulted it to me after the very front in the top5 of Jazz 2007! (To allow a classification: the other albums are Fresu / Galliano / Lundgren with Mare Nostrum, David Orlowskys Klezmorim with noema, Eric Legnini's Trio with Big Boogaloo and Joe Lovano & Hank Jones with Kids)
