It's finally here: since September 22, 2003 is on the 3rd studio album of the band in the shops, redefined rock music for me. Rock music with ups and downs that are otherwise no other band is so dramatic and sophisticated in scene, and rock music that sends the listener into another world. These are MUSE !!! Her debut album "Showbiz", the then still very young Britons (about 20!) Matthew Bellamy (vocals, guitar, piano, Lyrics), Chris Wolstenholme (bass) and Dominic Howard (drums), impressed critics and celebrated unexpected successes , Songs like "Muscle Museum", "Showbiz" or about "Unintended" had been so different and diverse as it had hardly anyone expected. MUSE created at that time with its entrance an unusual and unique, but sheer genius mix of hard rock songs and emotional ballads. They created a pleasant change from guitar and piano, which is mainly due to Matthew Bellamy. 2001 appeared then the long-awaited successor "Origin Of Symmetry" - this album was different, but not really different. It was harder, the ballads were the background and songs like "Plug In Baby" or "Bliss" were to rock giants in unprecedented dimensions. Nevertheless, "Origin of Symmetry" was not quite as round as the previous, but so far the highlight of the trio. This was followed by the live album "Hullabaloo", which provided a unique and gigantic insight into the unique and ingenious live Permonace the band, a long tour and the accompanying singles "Dead Star" & "In Your World"; two of the best and hardest songs MUSE ever made. More than 2 years went by ... and suddenly it was time: "Absolution" was there !!! What to say: For the better: "Absolution" is smoother, rounder, more sophisticated and mature. For negatives: "Absolution" is smoother, rounder, more sophisticated and mature. The 3rd solo album is a musical masterpiece that has no equal and one of the best rock albums of the past 5 years. It is also audible from beginning to end and will mobilize new fans. But unfortunately I have no 1-2 more songs that properly spank a butt, songs like "In Your World" or "Plug In Baby"; because it has only 4 real absolution represented (see review below) ... at 14 (or rather 12) songs a bit too little. But this is also, if at all, the only criticism. Whether you tend to the positive or negative aspect in the statement above, you should decide for yourself. Some like these mentioned changes, the other does not - because "Origin Of Symmetry" was not about a round balanced album, but a stroke of genius. For each song: INTRO: The compliance of the first real song and exudes a monumental feeling. APOCALYPSE PLEASE: The name says it all. Gigantic opener with almost monumental force and umhauendem Piano! In keeping with the mood of the whole album. TIME IS RUNNING OUT: Simpler and cool rock song with a chorus that plays on the wall, very good bass accompaniment and excellent drum work (inspired by Michael Jackson's classic "Billie Jean"). 2. Single from the album. Sing For Absolution: Beautiful ballad with emotional lyrics. This piece unfolds its effect only right at the end with the use of the guitar. STOCKHOLM SYNDROME: One of the hardest songs, MUSE have ever done. A very cool song with a melodic chorus and incomparable dynamics. 1. Single (Internet-single!) Of "Absolution". FALLING AWAY WITH YOU: Again one of the really good and beautiful ballads. A bit reminiscent of "Unintended", but has a separate statement and feeling force. Beautiful chords and expressive lyrics. A very emotional title. INTERLUDE: Combines "Falling Away With You" with ... HYSTERIA: One of the best songs of the entire album! Ingenious Bassriff and umhauender, almost hymn-like chorus make "Hysteria" so awesome. 3rd single from "Absolution". BLACKOUT: "Blackout" is the product of experimentation of MUSE and the use of the orchestra. A song of one of time is to time like better. BUTTERFLIES & HURRICANES: This song reveals its true power really only at multiple listening. Contains powerful piano passages and a piano solo in the middle of the song. Very anthem-like song, which could also be situated on a soundtrack for an RPG. THE SMALL PRINT: Absolutely outrageous !!! My personal favorite on the album, because the fastest and most dynamic song. "TSP" is a love of mine described as "rock monsters" piece that has a cool guitar riff and an absolute live song. Endlessly: Too much guitar synthesizer instead of making this song the only weak song on the album. THOUGHTS OF A DYING ATHEIST: A very surprising for me song, as I had imagined something else underneath. The song, however, has surprised me in a positive sense, because it is a quick and cool bassline owns. RULED BY SECRECY: Typical recently MUSE titles. Not comes close to the strength of "Hate This & I'll Love You", but is it better than "Megalomania". Finally, I can say that MUSE link to "absolution" typical elements and new well-versed with each other. The album is consistently audible. As a fan, I have to say that I am not disappointed, although one or the other "back transgressors" more could have been it. "Absolution" replaces the missing force had "Origin of Symmetry", with musical adulthood, now you know where you are going. The time in which you have MUSE compared to bands like Radiohead and equated should be over, because MUSE are better; they have matured and have moved on - and that's a good thing!
