After usual fast delivery by Amazon, the structure turned out as easily. Remove a few transport securing strip and make the toner ready to work thanks to the illustrated quick-assembly instructions easily.
The instrument is recognized immediately in the network and the software installing drivers and program modules via the supplied installation CD. Completely hassle-free installation under Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
On the CD you will also find the manual, a printed version is not in.
After installation, you can fax from your PC, scan and of course print.
The sending faxes and scanning are also possible directly on the device. However, the display is not legible.
The fax transmission and reception proved a little difficult for me, because I have an old analog telephone system from Auerswald in operation. But after studying the manual of the telephone system also had to overcome this hurdle.
But you have to make sure that you use the supplied phone cord, which is apparently configured specifically for the printer. In other existing cables Faxempfand and sending was not possible!
Caution: The cable is relatively short (about 3 feet). I need actually location requires a longer cable, but that's not in the Samsung range of accessories.
From the Samsung hotline I was referred to her "house and purveyors" the Fa. MK Elektronics. However, this company was able to offer me no longer telephone cable. The problem is thus still unresolved.
Addendum: I have now this cable Wentronic TAE Extension (TAE-F plug to TAE-F coupling) ordered (see also my review.) Black 3m and now the job done. Problem (surcharge) solved ;-)
The supplied toner is for about 1000 prints enough what I consider personally precious little! So you have to take care of rather quickly toner replacement.
About the "Samsung Easy Printer Manager" can be can be listed among others the approximate remainder of the toner. Samsung has there - not quite unselfish - equal integrates a button for ordering supplies ;-)
The printer is very quiet - except for the actual printing, scanning or faxing. Has he done his work, he is silent silent - no annoying operation noises can be heard. The printer (at least my model) is absolutely silent and goes after some time in the Sleep Mode. Then just lit the blue power light.
Print from sleep mode takes place very rapidly, there is no long warm-up phase.
So far, no problems have arisen during operation. Here short my point of view:
Benefits:

+ Simple basic structure of the device
+ Easy commissioning
+ Thoughtful Software
+ Processed good
Disadvantages:
- Phone cord very short
Small and not ideal to read printer display and operate -
- Paper cassette back open
- Supplied toner with capacity for about 1,000 sheets
The device basically has met all my requirements, I would buy it again. 1 star deduction (see cons)
