With "A Shot at Glory" Mark Knopfler remembers back to his Scottish roots. The soundtrack is not so much as a spherical Local Hero and lacks the haunting melody of its predecessor, but in terms of quality one needs to fear no comparison. Mark Knopfler is when it comes to Scottish music, absolutely firm grasp, so that the album beyond any Highland - moved kitsch. Some songs sound suspiciously like pieces of "Sailing to Philadelphia", while others remember "Cal" and "Local Hero". Between them cavort some features, such as Knopfler sings in three pieces, a first for Knopfler soundtracks. "Four in a row" is a rocking Reel, which has it all. Knopfler has just the feeling of romantic moods and he has a brilliant talent of doing this.
