I want to say that I too would have preferred the winner Nik and Elif, but to give Vanessa and Leo therefore no chance would be simply unfair.
So I now listened to the audio samples of soundmedia.ch, with positive and negative surprises.
01 - Last man standing: to be a good song, the catchy, but because he was constantly heard as an intro by pop stars, has slowly enough of him. Nevertheless, an entertaining title, are Leo vocally from a good performance, as well as Vanessa in the chorus, but for me personally her voice is a little too ungeschmeidig, especially if they "cry" is doing it just a little in your ears hurt. Here I am honest, the two do well, but the version of Nik and Elif liked better, even though Nik a few slip-ups makes the two voices fit better to the song. -> 3/5
02 - Heartbreaker: The first surprise. The song is very catchy and like really good to me. Also, I find that Vanessa's voice sounds good on this song, and fits. Against Leo I can not fault anything with this song. This is a song in which I would have liked Nik and Elif not so well imagined. -> 4/5
03 - Love Is The Answer: Again a quickie the well is very catchy. Again the duo VL makes good, even if Vanessa sounds here and there a little too hard, but the song could sound really worse. -> 3.5 / 5
04 - If only: The first negative surprise. A song with potential, but here I find the VL version really is not good, Vanessa does not sound good, something tortured and their cry makes me this song not to like, even if it is between text and music here really cool , -> 2/5
05 - Together Alone: And still a negative impression on this album. Unfortunately, I am not convinced Vanessa also in this song, the quieter passages are acceptable, but otherwise it's a horror. Definitely again a song you do not like for a long time, although it's not the song itself. -> 2/5
06 - A little bit of love: A little feeling fuller song, but that these feelings can only convey Leo, though not perfect, but I do not take it from Vanessa, here it seems to me totally out of place. She sounds kind of indifferent. Too bad the song. -> 2/5
07 - Story To Tell: Here me Leo does not convince you, here would have to be a little calmer sung, I liked the live version of Irma and Marc better by far. VL take the song his magic touch, the magic of the song is not over. -> 2.5 / 5
08 - Hijack My Heart: After recent disappointments 4 again a song that is more rocking and what sounds better with VL. Vanessa goes better with this song, just like Leo. Good song. -> 4/5
09 - Electrify me: disaster. Nothing compared to Dagmaras and Daniels version. This song has neither power, nor does it really rocks. For Leo and Vanessa are just too much pop. That just hurts only in the ears. Here they have really been wrong. -> 1/5
10 - Too Perfect: The worst song on the album. The song itself is beautiful, and Niks elifs version has touched me greatly, but VL make "Too Perfect" a nightmare. Horrible, uncaring and even Leo disappointed across the board. Vanessa does not sound quite as bad as in the finals, but is still not good, but rather insufficient and below. Quite contrary to elifs and Niks version. Too bad ... -> 1/5
11 - I Wish You Knew: Here Vanessa makes a surprisingly good figure, it sounds soulful and here is a little quieter, why could not be implemented at other locations that? In such a song I would have expected a little more from Leo. Nevertheless, the implementation of VL is good, the song itself is beautiful and moves the heart. -> 4/5
12 - Mechanical heart (feat. Michelle Leonard): The "famous" song, with Michelle Leonard, whose voice I but thin and even "weird" find a little. I like her vocal color just do not. The song itself is ok. -> 3/5
Conclusion: From songmaterial a real surprise, a lot of earwigs, but also very nice quieter, touching songs, variety is available. Meets my taste good, but from pop stars should not expect too much.
VL are in some really good songs, others intepretieren so-so, but many are also really bad.
Whether that would have been better by another duo-election? Doubtful, but we will probably never know, some numbers have Nik and Elif implemented definitely better, but in some places not even again.
VL will probably not win me as a fan, especially Vanessa not, but that's why the album is not bad, in concept, I like it better than me, the songs are more than satisfactory, but the singer must now be taken with the vote again ,
So on average I come to 2.67 and by the good song material I can forgive good conscience 3 stars, even if in some places just want to make only the ears and a real highlight fails. Still ok.
