I have witnessed with Genesis 18 years in June 1977. Live in Müngersdorfer Stadium in Cologne and it was really terrific. As part of a small festival. It played "Lake", "Manfred Mann's Earth Band" and "Genesis". "Gentle Giant" were even yet announced, but did not play unfortunately strangely. The only marginally. Genesis of course played the evening and the light show was technically at the highest level all the time. They were fixtures with the first laser in your stage show. For the normal band Instrumentation (Collins, Rutherford, Hackett, Banks) nor the ex-Zappa drummer Chester Thompson and ex-Yes drummer Bill Bruford came time for this performance to do so. A mad drum solo with three drummers was always accompanied by huge (approx 10m) in the rhythm inflating flowers right and left of the stage. The program was similar to the song "Seconds Out" and a few more songs and more encores. Although I wished then Gabriel would still singer of the band have been but Phil Collins did his job excellent. The double album presents a beautiful cross-section of the music of Genesis at that time. Although the recording quality is not outstanding but under the technical conditions to evaluate at that time quite as well. I personally found some live pieces much rousing than the studio versions. Unfortunately, the band in the years that followed failed to evolve musically on. It was decided then but more for the mainstream to make money. What you up to now quite impressively succeeded. Had this not been the case, we would be here but also certainly to discuss and buy any remastered versions. I personally look forward to the Box Set 1970-1975. That's the rael Genesis.
