Big fan of Thilliez, I was disappointed by this new novel ...
Yet everything starts well, with both Ilian and Chloe characters who get into a game where it seems difficult to untangle fact from fiction ... The puzzles, flippantes situations, mystery ... it seems once again to party Thilliez good (less dark but equally taking) ... In one of those interviews, Franck Thilliez was referring to the movie "The Game" to speak about his new novel ... and I retouvais permamente this kind of paranoia that seemed to implement ...
and then after 150 pages .. Patatras ... We start on a camera in a psychiatric hospital ... and there the story deflates like a balloon .. The novel takes a psychological thriller ... but without leadership have real intensity ... Nothing seems consistent in this story .. characters (usual strength of Thilliez novels) are cut with an ax .. .. It is soft and the worst is that if has already read psychological thriller (some authors have made very good), we can not help throughout the play to say we have already seen this ... and much more tied ...
In the end, you see everything coming, one quickly understands all the tricks .. and even the denouement brings no satisfaction ...
I think I can develop more revealing ... but without all the usual strengths Thilliez writing are definitely missing from this novel strong characters ... No, no suspense, no intensity, and no scientific basis on which the plot ..
