I had in front of the NB 70 a 15-year-old JVC RV-B99 BoomBlaster. How to read already in many cases, the new JVC models come to the old sound-wise not quite - 'because the mouse bites from no thread. This may be due to the components used, I do not know, am not a 'technician'. Used old models achieve good reason exorbitant resale prices.
Nevertheless, the NB 70 combines a large variability (with many connection possibilities), practical features, good mobility, adequate robustness and in my view the most appealing design in its class.
I use the NB 70 mostly in the low-volume area, let my second TV via the NB 70 run, only (rare), he is in the garden - 'for increasing the gardening mood - used in medium to high volume. Compared to the RV-B99 of the NB 70 lower volumes are actually clean and completely free from noise again. At very high volumes, the sound quality loss, however, is clearly not to be denied to older models! Where the RV-B99 has sonication times an entire gym, 'Use the NB 70' is obenrum 'rather thin. Sorry!
This deck was now an anachronism and is certainly missed by very few. The iPod function I think succeeded, both technically and visually. But you have to have articulated fingers if you want to operate the iPod during playback in the device. But that's not a real shortcoming. And: no iPod sees the front panel weird 'naked' from, which meant that I buy my first Apple device (iPod Touch) only therefore 'had'. :-)
It should be noted that there is no resume function during MP3 playback via USB. That would be a nice feature, and certainly have been possible for the price. But since I now use more iPod (so, where there is the resume function), it is wumpe me.
Even the design: as I said, I think it's very well done, especially the contrast of matte grip elements to subtly shimmering anthracite of the rest. Pretty! Can be seen everywhere and is also grumblers not much room to ... umm ... let nagging. In addition, he has become handier and lighter, which is the aspect of mobility benefit. The pity is that the strap is not as before by - is attached 'Karrabiner but with annoying Fummel loop on the device - very confidence-inspiring, massive; on the other hand which device has sooo cool handles on the sides, with which you can transport it also highly known ...?!
So, I hope I was able to take up the cudgels for JVC. I find it a pity that there is little truly meaningful, differentiated reviews. In NB 50/70 you can see it clearly: either find the user everything SUPER or all mega moderate poor. My conclusion would be: a 2+ to a lesser extent at high volume and a small tear in his eye in tribute to old NB10 / RV-B99-times.
One more praise for Amazon: whatever one is also served here admirably. My first NB 70 had a small Macke (no storage of my settings after shutdown). Before I could print the return shipping label, I had the e-mail delivery confirmation of the (error-free) replacement in the mailbox. PERFECT!
Conclusion: 4 stars.
