This is not because I know the family of the author, but I loved it: this book is paradoxical and permanently made back and forth between past and present. Exciting description of the climb "ordinary" of Japanese imperialism, nostalgia and modernity telescoping ... This little old lady "shock" is also very endearing, amid forbidden love (and manga!): A sequel?
