I pass rapidly over the pseudo-controversy stirred by some jealous at the exit of the book: no complaints. Even the famous passage on Charles Martel (p. 167) has nothing to worry about. I honestly still seeking what may shock!
In short, it is grown in a good time.
Some negatives though:
- Asides on points of interest mentioned in the cities do not make much and disturb (in my opinion) the thread of the story.
- The book is unbalanced: much of Gaul developments on modern history. Is it deliberate?
These two remarks do not tarnish the whole, which is very good. A good Christmas gift idea!
Mr. Deutsch thank you!
