Background: "Salem Rogers: Model of the Year 1998 'was produced by Amazon Studios. As a director Mark Waters worked, the case of Freaky Friday and Mean Girls for Lacher already caused among other things and a similar sense of humor rail strikes this series also, albeit to a more adult audience than TeenGirl. Screenwriter Lindsey Stoddart fell interestingly, so far as an actress (eg Desperate Housewives) on. The pilot has a length of 29 minutes.
Criticism: the act itself sounds underwhelming. But as with so many comedy series there is indeed more to the AS. And it works wonderfully here. Great actresses know convince (eg in a supporting role Jane Kaczmarek of Malcolm in the Middle). The production standard is very high, and luckily there are real scenes, and it is at original locations so no Lacher turned off camera with cheap sets. The heart of the series is the corruption of the fashion business. There is in the nature of Salem many swipes at Models. She's a narcissistic, disgusting "girls", which, completely naked below, for example, just to get attention on the catwalk. The rocking soundtrack is also great.
Conclusion: the pilot is really funny, but certainly not yet revealed the full potential of the premise. Leslie Bibb and Rachel Dratch play the bitch Ange and the different lifestyles simply superb. It would be nice to see how the two dissimilar women would actually develop something like girlfriends in an entire season. Bitter swipes on the business model included please. But in order to turn it into a series order, many people are probably the easy laughs missing with laughter from the off, so that they know when they are allowed to laugh. It will be fascinating if the series of Amazon Studios is continued or not.
Note: the first episode of "Salem Rogers" was free during the Amazon Pilot Season 2015 ready for viewing. Based on the feedback worldwide (USA, UK, Germany) of the customer, the Group will decide whether an entire relay order is or only when it remains a pilot episode. Viewable only in the original English with no subtitles.
