Ambitious Debut of Lorne Balfe 3.5 stars

Lorne Balfe is certainly not every film music fan a term, but only those that deal with Hans Zimmer or Remote Control. He has for many years A Medical Assistant by Hans Zimmer and among others ghostwriter for him, besides he steered for many of his scores "aditional Music" at and is so far from being a newcomer to the scene.

With Ironclad he has set to music his first major project, and he has chosen a very bold theme.

For the film Balfe created a very unique sound that fits very well in the time and hardly surprisingly, the usual remote control standards follows. The quiet pieces in the score loved it here by their innovative instruments choice and support beautifully the one shown in the film.

Big issues are missing here in my opinion, very, especially in the action-intensive parts it's kept very simple. Nice to hear and take effect in the movie but without real creativity.

Some of the tracks are down significantly too short and so disturb a consistent listening experience.

All in all, are not Balfe a "good" debut with a certainly not easy topic and he disappointed.
