Also for the new album to Amon Amarth have been inspired again by Norse mythology. This time, five of the ten songs deal with the history of the renegade god Loki. The other pieces are concerned, also typical Amon Amarth, with battles and Viking myths.
Musically, it is possible to find Amon Amarth on Deceiver of the Gods, the perfect blend. Since initially melodic unusual pieces like the title track or the immediately following as would loke case. But also, for Amon Amarth conditions, rather deathige Songs like the pounding we shall destroy or, triumphant with a strong intro, Blood Eagle.
The six other songs know consistently convincing as the exotic sounding Hel. Or Amon Amarth typical, slightly melancholic bouncer at the end of the plate Warriors of the North, which on the length and the mood is similar as Doom over dead man or Embrace of the Endless Ocean.
My only complaint really is the album that is missing from a truly real overheating brand Twilight of the Thunder God, after the first Hördurchgängen.
The Limited Edition comes in a sturdy box with posters and the album in digipack. Still further is a bonus CD. Especially today, when many Limited Edtions have only to offer another CD case, I think that you've done a little harder here. For bonus CD I can not say anything yet because I have not heard up.
In conclusion, I can only every friend of the harder music to advise Deceiver of the Gods to buy, fans of the group, the board can anyway buy without hesitation.
9/10 points.
