They interpreted the course titles of their first 9 albums, including those who are for me the best. Musically it's perfect, the sound is excellent and Simone Simons is excellent as always vocally and scenically.
The lighting is very controversial. This is clearly their choice, it would have interfered with me, not at all, as is the light from all angles are part of the show.
I was pleasantly surprised to find the excellent Hungarian Chamber Orchestra and the choir that accompanies them, all came from Miskolc (northeast Hungary). This due course excellent contacts made Miskolc festival where Epica occurred in 2008 (see their live album The Classical Conspiracy). And it's a really interesting even if the musicians are usually covered by those Epica.
I liked also see and hear Floor Jansen (Nightwish) joining Simone Simons on 2 titles, a very successful association.
This album includes the concert on 2 DVDs plus 3 CD (with identical titles). And the album itself is really nice. It includes a fairly extensive booklet with pictures, of course the setlist, absolutely complete credit of all those who have contributed to this show, do not miss the name of a single musician, chorister or technician of any kind, the thanks more usual and even 2 pages of figures and data of any kind (eg they calculated that the bus that led the Hungarian musicians had 1.1 million laps').
Two bonus round out the second DVD, "In retrospect with Epica" (interviews) and "Behind the Scenes".
In conclusion: a retrospective concert of the highest quality in every respect.
