An incredibly brilliant album!

Era Vulgaris is one of three albums for the island! However, the listener expects here no easily digestible food a la "Go with the flow" or "The lost art ...": The melodies are complex and sometimes quite used to.

TURNIN ON THE SCREW: The opener makes it equally clear. Rather obliquely, one might almost say dissonant, begins Era Vulgaris. The song needs like all the pieces here its time to convince. From time to time but it is always brilliant. 5/5

SICK SICK SICK: The first single, which consists almost entirely of a Chord. Therefore, very catchy, but when listening very carefully to recognize always previously unnoticed facets. Very cool number! 5/5

THE DESIGNER: One of my absolute highlights of the plate. At the first listening test I saw him after the first 30 sec. From tipping over, which I missed the grandiose midsection. Super Song! 5/5

INTO THE HOLLOW: QOTSA may also quieter! A wonderful, rocking ballad. and I give back 5/5

MISFIT LOVE: Almost perfect song. The guitar change after about 3 minutes is incredibly beautiful. 5/5

BATTERY ACID: The only song that has not yet been opened up to me after five listening. So again hear until you hear "click";)
For something present moment 3/5, but that may indeed change.

MAKE IT WIT CHU: Whoa! So a chilly, hot song would you not expect here. Blues tinged track with 70S Atmo! All that gave the album one star, because it "angle and inharmonious" sound, must have heard this firecracker. Too bad it for;) 6/5

3s & 7s: Super catchy single with murder Chorus. A nice mix of Sick, Sick, Sick and Make It Wit Chu. Out tip! 6/5 (oh dear, I'm already beginning to spread 6/5 stars ...)

SUTURE UP YOUR FUTURE: Quiet track, which increases in a guitar Inferno at the end. 4/5

RIVER IN THE ROAD: And again an absolute highlight! At first listen, hardly counterintuitive, but ignites the 2nd / 3 System. Time like a bomb! Out tip! 5/5

RUN RUN PIG: Closes well on River ... to. "Run Pig Run, here I come" is people who find Sick Sick Sick good also satisfied. 5/5

THE FUN MACHINE ...: QOTSA finish their fifth studio album with a humorous, bone-dry Stoner track. A successful completion of a grandiose rock album! 4.5 / 5

CONCLUSION: An incredible album! Not as catchy as "Songs For The Deaf" or "R", but that's what makes this young stoner rock classics so extraordinary! Let's see what frontman Josh Homme presents to his feet with his supergroup "Them Crooked Vultures" ...
