I photographed only with my Canon AE-1 PROGRAM SLR many years. The analog veteran for 25 years a faithful companion in every holiday and on all family celebrations with external flash and two interchangeable lenses. Made super photos was, however, quite heavy and costly to transport. Then digital photography came on the market. My first Panasonic was small, light and compact, replacing the analog SLR increasingly, although the photos were not as good. In 2009 I bought myself the Lumix DMC-LX3. Compared to its predecessor, this camera offers an extremely long battery life, brilliant and sharp pictures. Before, I had to change the battery once on vacation. Today, a battery for an entire vacation ranges. The wide-angle lens is great. For that you need in 95% of cases. I have consciously accepted and dispensed with the zoom factor. Because you can not so good things with this ranholen digicam. It is not a camera for telephoto shooting. It is suitable for landscapes, people shots and for all things, where you are just too close in front of it and a (old) 50s or 35s objective did not bring anything on's image. This creates the LX3 with its comparable 28mm lens with the left. I would buy again.
