Operation of the semi automatics AP and SP, and the manual adjustment: to regulate the aperture and / or shutter speed, Expousure must first be pushed and then adjust with the "arrow keys" aperture and / or shutter speed. Beautiful would be an extra wheel or rocker or the like to have direct access to it fast.
In View mode, the lens extends a fairly Schell. If you switched to photographing again, the lens zooms back to 25mm focal length a, not on the last used focal length, which m. E. would make sense. I know, there are an option (focal length save or something like that), but here the focal length is also stored for the entire off. After turning in turn, it is OK, always start with 25mm. Nevertheless, I will test this setting times.
On the menu I have to get used to, because in order to reach a setting you have to press "right". I squeeze (as of former Pentax users) intuitively OK, and then fly out of the menu.
Unfortunately Proprietary batteries are used, charging is provided via the charging adapter, to have to get out of the battery from the camera. Since there is no charge in the camera via USB cable is possible, one can not recharge the battery using external battery packs. So I gained even 2 additional low-cost batteries for EUR 15, the date work wonderfully.
Unfortunately, no optical viewfinder. The offers in the segment only Canon, but I decided for various reasons to a comparable Canon camera.
Those were the negative points that come to mind immediately after initial testing. The positives outweigh however completely:
- Super zoom range from 25mm to 300mm, and the measure with a compact and truly affordable price.
- There is a manual mode and semi-automatic modes, which had my previous compact camera
- Using SD cards instead of costly special solutions. That's why I need no cables to photos to be transferred to the PC as an SD slot is built into my PC. Schell ready to shoot and Schelles triggering
- Lots of scene modes to try out.
Incidentally, I have decided on the TZ8 instead of the TZ10, that I will mainly use the camera to take pictures. What does the TZ10 more, I renounce it deliberately:
- Better display of the TZ10. The display is for me to picture control and completely enough. See properly I'm doing on the PC or printed photos.
- Films with better quality and longer movies with the TZ10 (in TZ8 only 15 minutes at a time). Is for me as I said not in focus.
- GPS module with TZ10. I have never missed, I do not need, and if it is turned on, it consumes additional energy, and probably not just when I think about the power consumption of an iPhone with GPS on.
If you value these features, is probably better off with the TZ10.
