So it's a whole new kind of romance that arrives at HugoNewRomance. I must admit, when I read the summary Ladie's Taste, I was very intrigued. I'm not really lesbian romance but I wanted to test. History not to die stupid and telling me that, perhaps, I would be pleasantly surprised. But reading, several points have bothered me.
First, the author's style. Ladie's Taste is very well written. Written by Laura Trumpet is nice but tends to be a bit pompous at times. Some passages are heavy, strung well endowed clichés of Paris, the fashionista with reference Sex and the City. Another point: drugs. Crystal is a regular user and I found the scenes between two sniff delusions among colleagues and the special white powder sex was not really appropriate.
A little slow and a little long, Ladie's Taste was pleasantly surprised me at first, but eventually tired. However, originality is worth the trip and if you are looking for something new, this novel deserves a look.
