It's all there in Rise of Legends:
- Very good technique (the graphics are still a feast for the eyes - at the highest resolution, with antialiasing and then this mega Huge units that can even compete with the over units of Supreme Commander)
- RTS highest quality - in other words: A nice number of really different units (but not too much like in Supreme Commander), the usual construction of buildings, an elaborate and complex research tree, different (and expandable) heroes in the main campaign, the one really gradually grow fond of and and and
- A no-frills gameplay in multiplayer
- A magnificent campaign that spans three chapters and repeatedly come up with great twists can
- And then there's the mission map, where you can choose like Stratego his troops from land to land (ie Missione Mission) free. In no place to flee can, by gradually conquering the whole tracts of land around it and then catch him without escape beinhart: Oh, how nice it when the opposing hero weggräbt the water under their feet, in other words is.
Negative points are not really. At least no durable points. The game ran absolutely bug free with me. The missions are clear and understandable. A nice tutorial is also available - one has actually never watch the (good) game manual.
Well, what is perhaps a little look at one or the other weird thing is that with the main base. This design point in fact distinguishes the game from his Mitwerbern.
In Rise of Legends, there is a main base will be expanded gradually in the missions. A bit like a building yard in C & C to be gradually something rangestöpselt.
In Rise of Legends strictly necessary. You Stoppers ran to his cities business districts, you get a caravan. STOPPERS to a military district ran, the unit limit is increased and the city can be eg better defend against attacks.
Strategically, this brings a really fresh air into the genre anyway. And the game flow benefited immensely because of the city expansion faster and proceeds more spacious. Oh, and of course other buildings may still be built ála eg Warcraft. There is a defense gun, because a machine factory and so on.
What also comparable games is different:
- The player from the "ruled" country missions itself is always displayed with visible borders. In this area building may be placed freely or enemy units suffer a Verschleissschaden.
- To build several bases is dissolved in Rise of Legends also different. On the maps of different cities are distributed. There are those of the enemy who own and neutral cities. These may be aggressively conquered (and then expanded according to your wishes) or be caused to overflow by trade gradually and peacefully for example. Nice to have you here the choice is between - I want the city immediately, so attack or Nönö, at the city hang too many good fighter, a fight would be a shame. I wait until I have enough money and then to buy the city peacefully and look even know if my caravan there also can contribute something.
Oh, and what Rise of Legends really exciting (and different makes) is the story. No orcs. No invaders from outer space.
There the technical, "steam-driven" Vinci (very, very, very similar to Leonardo da Vinci's technical vision, with a touch of Jules Verne), the mysterious, accompanied by magic Alin and the last people of Cuotl that of sun gods and giant Being made of stone are marked. On the history itself, and I will not - but it is very, very fit and tells thrilling.
So, five bright stars from me. Just through the single player campaign and looking forward already to the multiplayer battles.
