Structure:
The building itself is actually quite easy to accomplish. However, I have personally struggled me to screw the rear bar with the two screws exactly parallel. Why? The screws always slip a little, so it was me personally not possible to achieve a precise parallel alignment. However, it should be noted at this point that for me one of the two beams of the house from 100% was not cut exactly and this was certainly one of the reasons for the unsatisfactory result.
Processing:
Basically, the dock seems very high quality. When screwing on the rear bar but scratches are quickly emerged (at the black version). How does that relate with the silver version, I can not judge.
I had obviously also the bad luck that the construction has slightly wobbled on my desk. For comparison I have the dock on multiple flat surfaces placed with the exact same result. At the incorrect installation of the cable it can not lie, because I have this down as much as possible in the recesses provided.
Handling:
The fact that the iPhone can not be removed with one hand, I knew in advance and knew this from the original docks no different. Therefore me this fact has not particularly disturbed. But what bothered me was simply that the dock moved by pressing the Home button on the back. That meant so that I even had to hold the dock when you press the Home button.
Although it was mentioned in several places, that by the front bar and the plastic cover, the iPhone could come off no scratches / would, I was not really convinced of it or is my thing then have been too uncertain.
Conclusion:
Because of my opinion but glaring weaknesses I can not really recommend this dock. Although the design is very appealing, but the disadvantages and workmanship not weigh this fact on. Therefore I had to unfortunately make use of my right to withdraw and have the dock returned in this case. Instead, I have the Everdock Universal Stand Steel Grey added myself, with which I am happy finally. As another alternative, the Deluxe version of Twelve South is worth mentioning, in which at least the problem should be no longer an issue with the assembly.
