Customer Review

The Eizo is a solid processed office monitor in 16:10 format, which is very pleasant because of the additional pixels in height, especially in office work. Unfortunately I had to send it back because I could not take the sparkle of white space. Here's my review:

As was discussed in test reports / Board frequently from Eizo in 2436, which manages at a brightness setting of about 19% without PWM, I bought in July the unit. For the first time I turned off the automatic brightness and opted for a more than 19% (-> no PWM). So far so good.

I opened an Office document (black lettering on a white background), and was irritated: anything bother my eyes. It felt as if continuously glitter dots would flash up in the white space, spread across the entire background. I screwed to the settings (contrast, brightness, gamma, temperature etc.), the background white replaced by various shades of gray ... and always I noticed this sparkle.

Maybe something that you get used to after a while, I thought. So I worked for a hour trying could hardly concentrate on the text and felt tense. A test with an old Samsung LCD: there were no problems. Back to the Eizo: Glitter points on all lighter areas (one might think, it is under these conditions more pleasant to work with white letters on a black background; None: if you do this, glitters Scripture!).

I turned a strong background light source in the room. Sparkle! - Finally, I sat in my despair even sunglasses. So it went better, but the screen suddenly seemed content changed: There was a kind of 3D effect (so, so if you'd "look into it" in the monitor a piece).

The next day, another attempt: Brightness 10% (so I took the PWM flicker in buying): a bit better, but still the sparkle.

So I could not work. I had no other choice but to seek a replacement (except for the glint liked the Eizo really good, and I will send him back with a heavy heart). IPS came for me no longer in question (and the limited selection considerably one because perceived 90% of all monitors on the market are now based on IPS); so I ordered a AMVA panel (unfortunately only 16: 9) - and see there: the Iiyama XB2783HSU-B1 I have no problems (also comes the Iiyama entirely without PWM flicker out). See my other review.

Conclusion:
The Eizo is in itself a good monitor with a sober style. Who get along with the IPS-flicker and mainly makes office work, will appreciate the extra pixels. For people, however, use a lot of white space, it could be problematic. I'm usually not very sensitive at flicker and formerly worked for hours with 50Hz monitors. Therefore: try it before to see if you can work with it without getting tired!
