recommended for gamers as games Monitor with small deductions

Monitor was "6870 HD" connected to an AMD / ATI graphics card via HDMI and DVI.
Viewing distance to the monitor 65-80 cm.

Negatives:
(Limited negative)
1) AMD / ATI graphics card bug: when a monitor is joined via HDMI overscan is enabled and can be seen on the monitor up / down and left / right black bars, the image is displayed quasi reduced. Remedy put in the CCC pure and overscan to 0% voila, the black bars are gone, but the monitor can not, is probably a special AMD / ATI bug.

2) Drivers: Driver for the Monitor from the supplied CD can not be on Windows 7 64 bit installed, it is always an error message. Drivers had to be installed later Manuel, via Advanced Screen Resolution >> Advanced >> Monitor >> Properties >> Drivers >> (read from the CD). On the LG homepage, no driver for the monitor to be offered, but only manuals ???

Although the monitor is functioning without drivers, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so this must be done.

3) Pivot function: Under Windows7 64 bit does not work the pivot function, when I turn the monitor upright, the image does not rotate.
You have awkward rotate the image on the CCC provide or edgewise and then back when "normal" would like to continue working.
I do not know whether it is up to the driver, Windows7 or back to AMD / ATI or that needs to be the AMD / ATI drivers deleted and reinstalled or it simply does not work?
Had I so looked forward to the feature, is also negative: if you monitor because edgewise turns, it often happens that the power cord out slip.

1) Response time / Schlieren / Glow Effect / glitter etc. detailed test to monitor there on prad.de
The monitor is via own menu on RTC (overdrive) is set to medium, I could see while playing no streaks or able to perceive a slow response time.
Similarly, I have not seen a Glow effect or glitter effect. (Viewing distance to the monitor 65-80cm)

2) noise hum buzzing etc.
As for what I'm a very sensitive person and this monitor I could until now no noise perception.
I have the advantage / disadvantage that I hear in my age frequency ranges that you normally can not hear with advancing age. With my old monitor and Develo Dlan what hums whimpers I've heard immediately when I very close to the ear zoom into the room barely and others had to make them heard anything at all.

3) image / brightness / light ovens
Unlike my old TN panel monitor from Samsung I hear no humming / buzzing / humming noise when I point down the brightness. Some attribute the brightness 100% is not sufficient for me, however, is 100% too bright and I put it on 75%. Light ovens, I also can not perceive, I play more in the dark / dim light.

Now the resolution 1680x1050 before I had now with the new Monitor native 1920x1080 Full HD, which is very pleasant, you can see just simply more.

4) What moved me to buy, was the height adjustment, tilt, turn on the monitor, nowadays most monitors have a small narrow base which you can only rotate. The base of this monitor is stable and not shaking while typing or playing games, only when you operate the buttons on the monitor, but that makes it so very rarely. What the height adjustability As just great, really am because of my office / work monitors spoiled by Dell and this feature I do not want to miss.

Only the problem with the drivers and the pivot function annoying because that does not work under Windows 7 64 bit, would have been a nice feature when I turn the monitor upright and the image also rotates, so a point / star deduction.

As a gamer where the monitor just is, it's a super monitor, strong buy recommendation at the price which is offered for an S-IPS panel.
Of course, the monitor also is the "normal people" suitable who want to indulge just surfing and writing and her eyes something good.

One should never at a monitor savings, because that is saving at the wrong end, after all, we look for hours at the monitor. What makes me a super graphics card, when the reproduced image on the monitor appears pale or forming streaks when playing?
