Although I was up late last year sworn Manuka Health fan I can now only advise against!
Since honey, familial, is since childhood my passion I have taken the time to research more closely to the MGO standard which was itself created randomly by Manuka Health into being. Frankly, I was surprised to shocked what I had read on closer inspection:
Professor Molan, scientists at the University of Waikato in New Zealand and for 20 years one of the best-known researchers in the field Manuka Honey, distances itself clearly from a corresponding health benefits of Manuka honey, which is in connection with the MGO certification: (.. .)
Rather, it refers to the certification of the company MGO Manuka Health as "very misleading for clients (...)
Even Professor Henle, the "scientific father" of MGO, classifies a high concentration of MGO for the human body as "may no longer be safe" and at the same time, the natural formation of high concentrations in question: (...)
So let's face it, if I read something I have no words! Since an attempt is made to the customer with alleged certificates, perhaps even synthetically added substances and self-invented standards feign a level of quality ... all at the expense of Manuka honey, a unique floral nectar. Why also 2 honeys from the same island, the same bees and the same environment are said to have completely different effects? Why all these certifications, none of which is without doubt recognized scientifically ?!
Instead of the New Zealand House to buy from my immediate Manuka Honey with a family (I would deliberately call no name), the emphasis on independent inspections and still offering honest, natural quality !! Tastes with this knowledge the way back twice as good!
