Initially, the device ran flawlessly. The IP telephony the telecom impresses its customers, worked without problems.
The router was stable, the connection has been well exploited, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly.
First problems occurred when I tried for the first time, to connect my phone via Wi-Fi with the Fritz box.
This seemed impossible. After a quick search I came then already on the ground. The router is allegedly incompatible with just that smart.
Problem unrecoverable.
The next problem occurred with the patcher of me mitlerweile entfallenen video game. Once the patcher was run for about 5 minutes on,
started the Fritz box suddenly become unstable. Immer Wieder disconnections until finally the complete crash of the router.
After another brief search turned out that the 7170 problems with it have to build more than 100-150 concurrent connections,
which unfortunately leads to problems in increasingly popular peer-to-peer (ie torrent-like) Patchersoftware.
Solution for this is allegedly the laboratory firmware to be installed on the Fritz box (ie beta firmware) of about 2007.
Since 7170 a now older model, it is no longer so easy to actually find a download for selbige software.
Finally it turned out that they brought only mitigate but not solve the problem. The Fritz box was still rather unstable at such a patch operations.
Approximately Two months later, she has now begun crashing regularly again, but often only partially.
So I enjoy a stable Internet connection, to my mother again Enraged rushes, with the words "The phone does not already again!".
All in all I would not suggest the purchase of 7170, as long as you do not want to use exclusively as a router.
In the case, however, there might be cheaper options, where you do not pay full price for unnutzbare additional functions.
